The Kurhaus & Promenade
The Kurhaus and the Promenade can be reached in a walk of ten minutes, starting from the Merano holiday rentals of the Huber Family.
The Kurhaus: a gem of art nouveau architecture The lovely Kurhaus, or Spa Building, on the Passer Promenade is Meran’s most famous landmark, and one of the most beautiful public buildings south of the Alps. It actually consists of two parts, the first one in neo-classical style dating from 1874, and a newer section built on to it 1912-1914. The first section of the Kurhaus, known as the Pavillon des Fleurs was officially opened with the lighting of 12 gas lamps, and remains almost unchanged to this day.
